Just like Ringo

If there was a Beatle I would want to emulate, it would be Ringo Starr. Why? No reason except for he played drums and that's pretty cool. He's also still alive, so that has to account for something.

What do the previous words have to do with this blog? Besides the fact that I don't really care too much about the Beatles or drums, there is an interesting news story coming straight from the drummer's sticks, er...mouth. Ringo no longer wants you to send him fan mail. No, no...he's far too busy. After October 20th, he will begin to throw it away. He just doesn't have time for you people who have bought his albums(?) or sticks or sunglasses over the years and made him a millionaire. (What does one buy from Ringo?) QUIT SHOWING HIM YOU LIKE HIM!!!! How dare you waste his precious time with a letter saying how much he means to you! I mean, of all the nerve.

All of that being said, I will now be accepting Ringo's fan mail at 438 Elm Pike, Nas......

I've also decided that a lucky commenter will receive a free copy of my playlist for each month. It will be a random drawing or picking. So comment and comment often. Otherwise, your ears will hate the rest of you.

See Ringo? That's what true entertainers do. They reward their fans for letting them know how they feel.

Birthday Bliss

Sorry I'm so slow getting this posted. Here's October's playlist. It's called Birthday Bliss because the Cog Dog and I both celebrate our birthdays this month. The songs aren't birthday specific, so don't get nervous that I have a song called "The Funeral" on here.

Life in a Northern Town - The Dream Academy
This song makes me happy, I think because of the chorus. Put a chorus in any song and I'm probably game.
Me and Mrs. Jones - Michael Buble
Something about the Bub(le) puts a smile on my face.
The Funeral - Band of Horses
This band is one that I only know two of theirs songs, but I love them.
A Better Place - VAST
If you listen to this CD, you'll hear so many different types of music. The guy sounds like Bono one minute and somebody else the other.
Out of Control (State of Emotion) - Kenna
Here is an Ethiopian-Englishman. He's pretty awesome. I would highly suggest him.
You Don't Know Me - Ben Folds (featuring Regina Spektor)
I love some Ben Folds. After hearing his whole cd, I'm not super impressed but I like some of the songs, including this one.
Sky - Joshua Radin (featuring Ingrid Michaelson)
A smile instantly comes on my face when I hear this song. Yeah, it's been out a while but it stands the test of time (at least the past few months.)
Manhattan - Kings of Leon
I wasn't going to give this local band much of a chance. I liked their On Call song a few years back and this one is great as well.
Nothing Ever Hurt Like You  - James Morrison
I hope his new stuff is as good as his old stuff. This sounds different to me, but I still like it.
Hot N Cold - Katy Perry
Uhm, if you can find a catchier tune out right now, I'd like to know about it.
Love Story - Taylor Swift
I know Berge hates Taylor. HATES HER! But I love her. I think she's precious, spunky and talented.
Human - The Killers
I can't wait for their new CD. They are always innovative and interesting.

(I just realized that I am fashioning my comments after the Celebrity Playlists on iTunes. I apologize, but don't take it back.)

Whatever Martha

Have you seen this show?? I was bored while the presidential debate was on and couldn't bring myself to watch E.T. so I turned to FLN and a show called 'Whatever Martha' was on. I can't believe this is a show...its pretty funny. Its Martha's daughter and some other girl just making fun of Martha's show. Histerical. One of the girls just said 'OMG'...literally the abbrev. I'm probably in the dark but you know I haven't seen TV in like 3 months.

Heres the link to the show

So it is confirmed that Misty Mae suffered an injury and will be out of Dancing with the Stars...it is rumored that Kim Kardashian will take her place. Lets all pray that if she comes back she will be partnered with Maks. Tune in tonight. I'm nervous about this one!

This picture made me laugh. I know he's walking up stairs but it looks like he's skipping across the stage. Dang it, I like a presidential candidate who can skip every once in a while.
