Joizee

Have you seen Jersey Shore on MTV? I know, I know...the 2 hour series premiere last week was a little daunting but I'm sure you can catch it one of the 100 times they are replaying it.

You think I'm crazy, don't you? You think I must be addicted to New Jersey since I loved the Real Housewives of New Jersey (remember, Caroline? "We are az thik az theeves.") You think Jersey Shore can't be good? Think again. Here's the cast in all of their guido-glory.

Let me assure you, you don't know people like this. You might never meet people like these. I can only thank the folks at MTV for capturing these creatures for all of us to enjoy.

One of these things is just like the other...

Loved the first. I think I'll love the second.

As if HS wasn't bad enough...

So people say that High School is much harder now than it used to be. Not so based on the editor's comments in Eisenhower's yearbook. (Poor Lois.)

What would Jackson Prep's yearbook editors have said about me?

The Real Names of Products You Don't Know

(via MentalFloss.com)

1. Jovny the Vlasic Stork
.
2. Bibendum the Michelin Man.
3. Captain Horatio Magellan Crunch.
4. Martin the GEICO gecko

5. Mrs. Joy Butterworth.
6. Rastus the Cream of Wheat guy.
7. Sascha the Hamm’s Beer bear.
8. Gidget the Taco Bell Chihuahua.
9. Lorraine the Sun-Maid Raisin girl.

10. Mr. Six, the creepy Six Flags dancing guy.

It's a man's world

So I love where I work. I am surrounded by great, fun people. Strangely, the past two places I've worked I've been one of the only girls.

At my current job, I hear a lot about guns and hunting. I don't mind since I have my TuneBuds that I just slip in my ears and turn up the iTunes. Sometimes I listen to super girly music like Taylor, Carrie and Reba just to drown out the testosterone.

The guys have really been great to me. They are all super nice and besides the occasional belch, are very polite. However, sometimes they prove true to their gender in their words.

I give you "Was that a Compliment?"
1. I really like grey hair. (I got my hair colored that very night.)
2. Can I borrow that life vest? (Twice I've worn my cute, green puffy vest and twice I've been told this.)
3. You look like a lumberjack. (Said at lunch the day I wore my new blue and yellow plaid flannel shirt.)
4. Your eyes look like you're getting sick. (Ugh...ugh.)

These are not exaggerations. And luckily I can blog about them and laugh them off. I know the guys mean well, even if their words could use some help.

PAM (Ewing) IN SPACE!!!

(imagine the Pigs in Space theme from The Muppet Show)

So Victoria Principal, aka Pam Ewing from "Dallas", is going into space. I've said before and I'll say it again, you can keep space. I love to see pictures taken of space...just don't expect me to take said pictures or see the matter that the pictures show in person. I don't care anything about it.

It seems that space is going to be in our fairly near future, according to Davy Fisher. He mentioned something called a Space Elevator the other day. Granted I kind of spaced (pun intended) out while he was talking about it, I heard something about a really long wire and an elevator and orbit and atmosphere.

I think it's the idea of being so alone that turns me off of space. I had a hard enough time being a foreigner in England and I was surrounded by people all speaking my language. I cannot imagine being in space where you are all alone.

So while all of you conquer Mars, I'll be keeping things real down here on good ol' Mother Earth.
