You're welcome...

I found this on a friend's blog today. Forgive me if it's so 2008. I may have just missed it. Better late than never. If you go the actual YouTube page, you can see many more of these nuggets of humor.

Reason #431 I know I'm getting old

I woke up this morning with a really, really sore hip. I've kind of limped around all day long on it, cringing in pain mainly when I get up from being in a stationary position for an extended amount of time.

The crux of the situation, and what makes it so sad is that I got this bum hip while....bowling.

Bowling for Dignity

As many of you know, I'm on the local board of my Mississippi State Alumni Association. I've loved getting connected with Bulldogs here in Middle Tennessee and sharing our memories of college life. It's been such a blessing to me. This week at our board meeting, my friend Courtney said the BigTen/SEC Bowling Tournament would be the upcoming Saturday (today.) She somehow recruited me to go. We had no idea what to expect.

Here's what we found:
Bowling alley in shadesville.
Florida fans took lanes from us.
Michigan State fans are nice...and we share the same initials.
Courtney has a mean granny bowl.
I have no mean bowling tosses? (what would you call throwing the ball down the lane...rolling?)
My arm will be sore tomorrow.
LSU fans start drinking early, no matter the situation.
Georgia fans dominate Nashville apparently.
I say "apparently" too much. Regis says "incidentally" too much.
We didn't win but we had fun.

I guess those many Saturday mornings at Broadmoor Baptist Church bowling and playing basketball were really for naught. We already know my basketball skills are lacking...my bowling skills equal them. I guess I'll have to stick to air hockey on my iPhone. Oh, and tennis.

Twitting...

Still not inspired to write large chunks of prose so I signed up for Twitter. Ok, that's not the real reason. I want to see what the fuss is all about. I'll be even more honest...I am super nervous that I am not going to be followed by fellow twitterers. I never thought I'd be this anxious to be stalked. It reminds me of my naive early days of Facebook. Ah memories.

If you want to follow me and my awesome adventures that are sure to enlighten, humor and inspire you, check me out at @sarahmc80 (is that how you say it?)

You can't say no to this blurry face, can you?

BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, okay...I'm sorry I've failed you, my faithful readers. I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted. It's pretty ridiculous but honestly I felt completely uninspired during the last month. For those of you who don't know, I lost my job in January so I moved to Jackson where I found a job. In the meantime, I figured out that Jackson isn't home for me anymore. So I decided to move back to Nashville...all in a month's time. So there, that's how I'll explain it.

On to what you're here for. A few things you need to know about...

1. I walked into my grandfather's room (that's Boppa, to most of you) one morning and his bottom teeth were on the floor under his bed. I'm just glad I got there before Jack got to them. That dog has been looking to get some new teeth.
2. March Madness has turned into March Sadness as my Dawgs lost in the first round. It was quite a few weeks for my beloved Bullies. I am eternally proud to be an MSU Bulldog. That's right, eternally, because deep down I know the Lord cheers for the Maroon and White. (kidding, kidding...no seriously.)
3. Before I moved to Jackson, I packed everything (and I do mean, everything) in boxes and tubs and stacked them in my room. So now I'm back and don't know what to unpack and what to just keep in boxes for my move in April. To say I feel unsettled would be an understatement.
4. Bob and I watched "Frozen River" last week. I liked it a lot and would like to recommend it to you.
5. Professor Jeremiah Laskey is on "Big Love". At least he is on this episode. Who can name the show Professor Jeremiah Laskey was on?
6. The starting gun was fired for "The Amazing Race" a few weeks back and this season has been great so far. Some highlights are the great cheese downhill race, Phil in his blackie tighties (I'm not being racist. They were tight, black underoos,) mischievous blind u-turns (I'm not being mean on this one either. Let's not forget that the blind can mail for free.) If you're not watching, you're not really living.
7. "Friday Night Lights" is the best thing going. Seriously, RUN don't walk to Best Buy and buy Seasons 1 & 2. Better yet, get in your car and get it. It's quicker that way. Once you see Tim Riggins, you'll thank me.
8. Apparently in my unemployment I have lots of time to watch TV. This is more than normal.
9. While watching the only episode of "Big Love" I've seen, I realize that I'm glad I'm not a Morman.

Okay, I promise I'll be good. Would this face lie to you?

Don't Forget the Lyrics...

First of all I would stink that this game...stink! I would say almost 75% of the time I'm saying the wrong lyrics. The Sass loves to play the game in the car where if there is a song on she will say 'SING IT BER'...lets note that its normally on the most ridiculous part of the song and so I of course play along. The Sass and I are loads of fun in the car...if you don't think thats true we'll take you for a ride.

Here is the latest example of me messing up lyrics. I've been listening to this song called Twice by Little Dragon. Here are the lyrics...then I will explain:

Twice I turn my back on you
I fell flat on my face but didn't loose
Tell me where would I go
Tell me what led you on I’d love to know

Was it the blue night
Gone fragile
Was it both men
In wonder steady gone under
Was it the light ways
So frightening
Was it two wills
One mirror holding us dearer now

Thought I had an answer once
But your random ways swept me along
Colossal signs so I got lost
With so many lovers singing soft

Was it the blue night
Gone fragile
Was it both men
In wonder steady gone under
Was it the light ways
So frightening
Was it two wills
One mirror holding us dearer now

See in the second paragraph were it says 'was it both men'. I was singing 'was it boyz to men'. Right. I thought man she sure does have a lisp and sort of slur that together. I decided to research knowing my history with lyrics...FAIL. I do sort of wish it said 'boyz to men' tho.

What's been on my mind...

I drive about an hour a day on my way to and from work. Here are some thoughts I've had during my drive time.

- I like Lady Antebellum, at least the songs I have. I wonder if it's because Josh Kelley's brother, Charles (?) is the lead singer. Maybe I like all things Kelley, including the Michael Kelley clan.

- I can drive pretty good with one knee.

- Would I be smart enough to survive a plane crash like the Hudson crash? I do know now that you aren't supposed to inflate your vest until you get out of the plane.

- My parents may own the most spoiled dog ever. Seriously, it's bad. Right now I'm looking at my mom laying on the love seat with Jack laying on her and putting his head down on her shoulder. Ridiculous.

- I don't care that people see me singing in my car. It makes me happy to sing and it makes the other driver happy to laugh at me singing.

- I won't have a March playlist because I do not have any new music. If that changes, you'll be the first to know.

- Transition is hard.

- I desperately want to be on a game show.

The Chronicles of Nanny

I think I've talked about my Nanny on here before (my moms mom). She's crazy. There is always a story, I get excited every time because its full entertainment and full drama. I will probably start sharing more stories about her because you just can't make this stuff up.

So my aunt Sissa got her a dvd player for Christmas. Sissa sets it up for her, writes the directions down and even offers to type them out but Nanny says no written will do. Well nanny decides to use the dvd player the other day. So she calls my mom, who has never seen the dvd player and is asking her what to do because she can't get it to work. Well Necie can't figure it out so Nanny gets off the phone with her. She then calls Sissa and Sissa is at work so she can't come over. Somehow in the middle of this she deletes my moms number and has to call my dad to get it. Now my dad never answers his phone esp. if Nanny is calling so it takes like 3 tries to get that. So she calls Necie again and of course she can't figure it out. Finally Nanny gets someone that lives around there to come in and help her and it turned out one of the chords was loose. HA. So because Necie and Sissa could not help her she told someone that she was just going to change her will and give it all to the church...WHAT. The funny thing is my Nanny never goes to her church because she is always mad at someone. We're like what church?

That is the latest...I will keep you updated.
